Nowadays, the number of viruses is raising more and more and it's becoming more and more difficult to protect a computer. These unwanted objects can damage a system and can make an operating system to behave unexpectedly or impossible to boot. Besides damaging the operating system, viruses or even some programs can cause loss of important information. That's why it's always a good idea to have a backup copy of the hard disk in case disaster strikes. A software that can automate the process of creating a backup copy is Casper. The program basically allows one to copy all the information from a partition to another or from a hard disk to another, without having its functionality limited to this only.

The program supports almost any Windows version, including XP and Windows 7 and has a point and click installation process.

The interface of Casper is graphical and resembles the one of typical Windows 7 application, thus being intuitive and simple to use. One has the possibility to copy an entire hard disk to another or just a partition. Besides doing this, Casper can also create an empty partition from the hard disk free space, in which the backed up information can be stored.

Backups can be scheduled to take place at a specific moment in time, without the user's intervention. This way, one can make sure that all his information is safely stored at all times. Besides that, Casper can fix the Master Boot Record of a partition in case this cannot be displayed correctly by Windows. A Configuration Report can be displayed at any time, displaying complete information about all the hard disks and partitions available, together with some technical information that can help advanced users spot hard disk problems.
